Roadmap / Extensions and packages roadmap

Extensions and packages roadmap

Exponential is extended by more than a hundred maintained extensions in the se7enxweb GitHub organization, nearly all of them published on Packagist and installable with Composer. Most of them had several releases this year. This page lists them by area, with the current version of each. Every listed version was released in 2026 and is marked Delivered.

Each extension that is shipped as an installable package also has an -ezpackage repository, and both are released together. Every release carries its version in the extension's own files, so Setup > Extensions and Info > About show which release is installed.

Help wanted

  • Composer packages: add a composer.json to an extension that has none, and test installs with Composer security blocking on.
  • Testing: install an extension on the newest PHP release and report what fails in its GitHub issues or the issue tracker.
  • Documentation: every active extension now has its documentation in the help center. Improve the pages of the extensions you use.
  • Ports: tell us in the Extensions forum which extensions you still miss on Exponential 6.
