CJW packages for Exponential roadmap

The CJW packages for Exponential are maintained by the Exponential Foundation and 7x together with CJW Network. They include the newsletter system, a complete multisite site package with its design, an image editor for the administration, a Platform distribution and a demo site. The packages are developed in the se7enxweb and cjw-network GitHub organizations.

cjw_newsletter

The newsletter system for Exponential 6: lists, editions, subscriptions, sending and bounce handling.

  • Delivered: cjw_newsletter 4.2.20 (29 October 2026), with 44 releases this year.
  • Delivered: the 4.2 line brings the features of the old eznewsletter to the e-mail preferences of Exponential, so newsletter subscriptions and the site's mail consent are one system.
  • Delivered: a dashboard, console commands, background runs, simulated sending, a newsletter tree installer, and schemas for MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite and Oracle.
  • Delivered: the edition preview tabs, administration views on the shared components, no inline scripts or styles, accessible forms, and translations in more than ten languages.
  • Considering: newsletter templates for the media design, and editions built with Exponential Layouts blocks.
  • Considering: sending through the Exponential job queue (expqueue) and delivery statistics per edition.

CJW multisite site package and cjw_themes_jumper

  • Delivered: cjw_themes_jumper 0.1.12 (29 October 2026), with 13 releases this year. It is a design theme converted from the Platform Nexus media site for Exponential 6.
  • Delivered: the CJW MultiSite site package, the design of CJW Network as a site installation package for the setup wizard and the package server. It installs several sites from one installation.
  • Next: a tagged release of the CJW MultiSite site package on the package server, installable with a few clicks in the setup wizard.
  • Considering: cjw_themes_jumper on the same release cadence as the media design, with the fixes for phones and a 200% zoom.

expimageeditor

  • Delivered: expimageeditor, an image editor in the browser for the image fields of the admin4 administration. It handles raster images (crop, rotate, flip, resize, brightness and contrast, black and white, sepia, pixelate or blur a region, watermark) and SVG drawings. It works without jQuery and under the Content Security Policy of the administration. It ships with Exponential 6.0.15. The setup wizard activates it, and editors get it in their role.
  • Considering: more image tools, and the editor in the Exponential Layouts image block.

CJW Exponential Platform Nexus

  • Delivered: CJW Exponential Platform Nexus 1.0.0.15 (25 October 2026). It is Exponential Platform Legacy with the Netgen media site and Netgen Layouts, and its composer.json allows PHP 7.1.3 to 8.5. It installs with Composer 2.10 and 2.11 with security blocking on. Its committed vendor directory no longer holds development versions.
  • Delivered: the CJW Exponential Platform Nexus starter, a ready-to-run installation, and its example site data.
  • In progress: Composer security blocking, phase 2. The last blanket audit exception is removed once the Twig 2.x fixes are backported.
  • Next: fresh-install tests of the default installation, with every concern found fixed.

The CJW demo site

  • Delivered: a public demo site of the CJW multisite package, rebuilt automatically from the current packages.
  • Considering: the demo shows the newsletter, the image editor and Exponential Layouts together.

More CJW extensions

  • Delivered: cjw_tmv 0.1.4, tools for the TMV web service, and cjw_bootstrap5 1.0.0, a full Bootstrap 5 integration with Bootstrap Icons.
